After her divorce, attractive and self-assured communications trainer Lis Praetorius decides, once and for all, to wipe the chapter on men out of her life completely. But when she meets canteen chef Jan Plate dur-ing a staff coaching event in Oldenburg's town archives, her resolution is unexpectedly unhinged.
Jan, too, has had a bumpy ride following a private disappointment. He is trying to come to grips with a collapsed marriage, his lack of courage to implement a career comeback and his half-baked affair with Andrea Lenze, the pretty accountant at the town archive.
Lisa and Jan feel attracted to one another from the word go, but in order for love to grow out of a feeling of mutual attraction; they have to confront their relationship phobias, accept their shortcomings and abandon their previous behaviour patterns. But most of all, they have to learn that - even after a disappointment - it is always worthwhile to fight for one's dreams, as well as for love.
