Jakob is a withdrawn, sensitive 15-year-old, struggling to come to grips with puberty. He films anything that tickles his fancy with his video camera and loves unusual photos. His parents, Claas and Lina, know little about his habits as they are too full of themselves. They are in the middle of a marriage crisis and Jakob witnesses their rows on a daily basis. But when Jakob's mother informs him that she wants a divorce and will be leaving the family home, Jakob becomes even more reclusive. He has problems at school, too, but he couldn't care less as he only has eyes for Hannah, who he is in love with. Just as he is about to become more intimate with her, a homemade and highly compromising video does the rounds at school. Jakob is humiliated and laughed at by all and sundry and is even targeted in internet chat rooms; even Hannah decides to walk away...
